TIPS. Ongoing Train travel so far only works if you prebook where you're going and when, if you want to bring a cycle. Only 2 bikes per carriage, and booking opens 12 weeks in advance. Doesn't work for me
Three things I learned yesterday.  When hiking in Scotland, always bring gloves, long pants and a raincoat.  It was a lovely few hours in the hills.  Reminded me of the ridge line up towards Konya Peak in the Chugach. But I can't say the wind was reminiscent of anything.  maybe because I wore thin shorts- but I was so cold! The day worked out surprisingly well, as Kyle from Warmshowers met Antony and me at the end of the hike, fetched my gear at Ant's flat, took me to collect my bike at the shop, and transported me to a lovely campsite in Fife.  The bike was in the shop because of a bent rotor and an untrue wheel- thanks to the airline transport.  It was the third shop that helped me out. The first one said 2 weeks.  The second was 2 days. But Bike Trax was fantastic.  From the first person to greet me in the door, to the mechanic who didn't charge a pence.
